Jazz Party Success Supports Adoption Services
The “Light up the Night” theme was a prediction of great things to come as a sold out crowd of over 325 CSS supporters gathered at the Moraine Country Club on November 20, the traditional “Friday before Thanksgiving,” in support of Catholic Social Services’ adoption and foster care programs. Attendees enjoyed great friends, great food and great music all in support of a great cause.
John Hampton Wagner and This Side Up got people not only in the mood for jazz, but also in the mood for giving. Over $80,000 will support the CSS Beginnings Programs this coming year due to the generosity of sponsors and those in attendance who enjoyed bidding on the new Spotlight Auction and expanded Silent Auction items which included fabulous vacation packages, unique art pieces and a private celebration of Mass and dinner with Archbishop Dennis Schnurr.
Pene Miller, chairperson of the Opus Est Committee which organizes the special event, said the evening couldn’t have gone better, “Our group of women work extremely hard to make this a truly fun event so that people want to continue coming back each year, and they have done so again! It was wonderful to see party goers dance late into the night!”
Special recognition goes to the following Opus Est Committee members:

Art for a Good Cause
If you missed the beautiful prints available at this year’s Jazz Party, make sure to visit the Art Frame Gallery at 1652 Brown Street in Dayton. An anonymous donor has donated over 500 beautiful prints ranging from landscapes to abstract art to still life’s. The prints make a perfect Christmas gift and, at $5, are a bargain. All proceeds will go directly to Catholic Social Services. |
