What is Early Childhood Social and Emotional Development Consultation?

Early Childhood Social and Emotional Development Consultation (ECSEDC) is a service to childcare providers of children ages birth through 5 years. The services help to promote healthy social and emotional development and address behavioral health needs to increase children's readiness for school and later school success.

Who receives consultation services?

• Daycare programs
• Pre-schools
• Head start
• Licensed in-home childcare providers
• Parents of children in one of the above programs

Why?

"One out of every 208 pre-kindergarten students in Ohio is expelled each year." Research has proven that good social/emotional development in children is vital to school success.

• Child displays aggressive behavior
• Child is quiet and shy
