Provide Gifts for St. Nick’s Shoppe
Our 2018 Holiday Giving Program
You might consider it a bit early to think about Christmas. But it is never too early to think of those unable to fully experience the magic, and miracle, of the season.
Each year, hundreds of our clients have found themselves in this sad predicament. Thanks to the generosity of many friends and supporters in our community in recent years, we have had the opportunity to help lift their hearts and renew their faith.
This year, we have combined our previous Holiday Help-a-Family and Santa’s Shop programs into a single activity – St. Nick’s Shoppe – and relocated our distribution facility to the parish hall at a local church. This change will enable parents, for the first time, to shop for their children among the gifts you have provided.
Like the programs it replaces, St. Nick’s Shoppe will be supported by and serve people of all faiths, and provides you with an opportunity to help your neighbors in 2018.
You and/or your organization can purchase NEW gifts for parents, young children, teenagers and seniors. These gifts, in turn, will be distributed by Catholic Social Services to local families in need in mid-December.
What kinds of things can be donated?
Here are some suggestions, but this is certainly not a comprehensive list!
Keep in mind that batteries can be expensive; toys and games that don’t require batteries won’t require this ongoing expenditure by the recipient family.
Do the items have to be new?
Yes, please! Keep in mind that these items will be Christmas presents for area families, so we want them to have the joy of receiving NEW items instead of hand-me-downs.
Are there items you won’t accept?
We are unable to distribute bikes & toy guns or weapons. This includes nerf guns, light sabers, water guns, etc.
When do donations need to be delivered?
Because we don’t have space to store all the gifts in advance, we’ll need all donors to drop off unwrapped gifts during the day on December 10-12. Drop-off will be at our distribution site — NOT at one of our office locations. We’ll provide you with the address when you sign up as a donor/sponsor.
For more information about supporting St. Nick’s Shoppe through donations of funds or gift items, contact Lindsay Godman at (937) 223-7217 ext. 1106 or submit the form at right to receive a sponsor/donor form with more details.
Those seeking to receive gifts through this program must be an active client of one of our participating programs. Because of limited resources, St. Nick’s Shoppe will not be able to serve walk-ins.
