Generations Campaign to Raise $10 Million for Catholic Social Services’ Four Key Priorities
April 27, 2022 – At Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley’s Annual Meeting today, CEO Laura Roesch announced the public phase of a five-year comprehensive campaign inspired by the desire to broaden and enhance the agency’s impact as it enters its second century of service. The GENERATIONS CAMPAIGN had a quiet launch in 2021 and will run through 2025, with a total fundraising goal of $10,000,000.
The four key priorities the campaign will support are:
- Improving facilities
922 W. Riverview Avenue in Dayton, which houses the agency’s food pantry and several other programs, will undergo major structural improvements, while the Center for Families at 1046 Brown Street in Dayton will receive enhancements to the parking area and client entrance.
- Investing in strategic program areas
CSSMV will be able to greatly expand three existing programs that address unmet needs:
Next Steps and ECHO help remove non-academic barriers to education for community college students and K-12 students, respectively; and Life Essentials provides legal guardians and advocacy for adults who cannot manage their own affairs due to mental incapacity.
- Strengthening CSSMV’s Annual Fund
Growing the baseline amount raised each year through the Annual Fund will have a substantial impact on day-to-day operations and provide the agency with more flexibility to respond to emerging community needs.
- Attracting and developing a skilled workforce
CSSMV will create an investment fund from which the interest will provide funds to help staff maintain and expand their professional expertise by pursuing undergraduate or advanced degrees in their fields.
As of today’s launch of the campaign’s public phase, more than $7,000,000 in gifts and pledges have already been made.
