CSSMV Special Events Hosted 1,140 Guests in 2019
Catholic Social Services’ four largest fundraising events and annual meeting not only raise important funds for the organization, but they are a primary way of introducing the agency to new friends. Thanks to those who volunteered, attended, sponsored and donated, $284,000 was raised to support programs and help supplement the agency’s Annual Fund. Pat Rupp Memorial Golf Tournament

The 14th annual event at NCR Country Club continued its tradition of raising funds for the many CSSMV programs that serve children. With 148 registered players, the tournament spanned both the North and South courses. Players were treated to lunch and dinner, door prize raffles, contests, awards, and a silent auction that included a rare bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year Family Reserve bourbon. The 2020 tournament returns to NCR on Monday, July 27, and online registration will open at cssmv.org during the first week of January.
Celebration of Caring

CSSMV’s Northern Counties programs were the beneficiaries of this fun event that featured dinner, dancing, and three terrific regional musical acts: the Cincinnati Steel Ensemble, guitarist Danny Schneible, and The American Kings. Special guest Bill Reichert, Superintendent of Jackson Center Schools, shared his thoughts on the value of having CSSMV’s counseling services available on-site to his students. Held at Lehman Catholic High School in Sidney, the event also gave guests the option to arrive early for Saturday Night Mass, celebrated in the Lehman Chapel with Fr. John Tonkin.
Shine Dayton Celebration

Shine Dayton is a group of young professionals committed to advocating for the compassionate works of Catholic Social Services through the engagement and empowerment of individuals. This year’s third annual Celebration returned to the spectacular Steam Plant in downtown Dayton, with proceeds providing support for CSSMV’s refugee resettlement program. Officer Ndayisaba Ramadhan, who arrived in Dayton as a refugee in 2008 at the age of 16, shared the story of his journey to becoming a U.S. citizen and joining the Dayton Police Department.
Jazz Party: Fly Me to the Moon

The Opus Est committee welcomed more than 400 guests to the annual Jazz Party at the Marriott at the University of Dayton. This year’s theme was a nod to the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, and the silent auction featured theme-related packages including an opportunity to Skype with an astronaut (Col. Cady Coleman)! This event is CSSMV’s biggest fundraiser of the year and often sells out, so be sure to mark your calendar for the 25th anniversary celebration on Friday, November 20, 2020.
